We got Princess Boyot from a pet store in TTDI. At that time we only had Mummy's Boy which we adopted from a vet in Kuantan. The latter was bored ..we think....we left the house every morning before 8 am and only got home after 6pm. So that justified a companion for him.
Anyway, i think, we sort of rescued PB from the pet shop. We were ignorant then...shouldn't have encouraged backyard breeding. We chose her because she practically threw herself at our feet. Very extrovert. We didn't even realise that she was smelly as she was covered in her own poo. The carer at the shop didn't proovide a proper litter tray. Instead when the cats pooed or peed, it would just go through the floor of the cage into the tray underneath (made me shudder each time i think about how poor the condition was for the cats). We took her home but her smell was overpowering. We decided to board her at the vet overnight for grooming, deworming, vaccination etc. We brought her home the next day...smelling all nice and fluffy..with tail like pelepah nyior. The two ktties didn't gel at first...PB couldn't care less but MB would hiss and took a swipe at her. We caged her at bedtime but she made such rackett that we let her out the following night. In time they were good friends.
The two of them had this habit of racing from one end of the apartment to another..meaning from our bedroom to the living. To and fro..they were most active at night. Once we got them a toy mouse..PB made it hers. She'd play fetch..like what a dog would do. She'd carry the toy in her mouth, plonked it in front of us and waited for us to throw it..the further the better. Then she'd run after it and brought it back to us. All over again. What we couldn't stand was that she wanted to do it even when her human slaves were in bed. She'd practically fly onto us with her toy in her mouth. One night, MG thought he was smart..he took the toy and hid it under the sofa cushion. But PB was smarter...we didn't know how she managed to find it and fish it from underneath the heavy cushion. Yes, we human slaves had no say at all...our entire existence were to keep them amused.
This is just one short chapter of PB's life. As i'm typing this, she's being warded at UPM vet school. We don't know what is wrong with her...she had abscess near her right eyebrow, sprained her right back leg, discharge from her right eye and now her left front paw is hurting..all within the span of one month. She was boyot before (hence the nick) but now she has shrunken to half her weight. I have been feeding her with a syringe each time she fell ill to supplement whatever she's eating by herself. But yesterday morning, she refused to eat her favourite wet food or drink. I am waiting anxiously for 11am to visit her (the hospital has set times and you're supposed to call beforehand)..i hope they've found out what is wrong with her and i pray to god it's treatable. My work and anything PhD related has been neglected.....family comes first, and PB is family.
Please send her positive vibes to get better..

All the best to Princess Boyot. I hope she recovers and be her healthy self again.
