At the moment, i live comfortably....tak kaya but there are a lot of things that i never had as a child i may be able to give little D now. My parents were teachers..we're much better off than some other people you might say but my dad was always doing some projects but most of them tak jadi..therefore, if he had just concentrated on teaching, it could have been better i think. There were things that i yearn as a child perhaps because of peer pressure but i never got it bec. mak i cakap they are not necessities. So, kalau nak memang kena kumpul duit sendiri. For e.g.
1. Kalkitos - i don't know if you guys still remember benda alah ni. I've only had one. Itupun buat sikit2 nak savour the moments.
2. Pencil case yg berlapis2, siap dgn secret compartmentnya lagi..
3. Beg sekolah sometimes dipanggil beg kotak, yg macam briefcase tu. At one time ni, ada design tartan merah hitam, kiranya macam burberry's during that time..
4. Pencil sharpener yg besar cam kotak tu
5. Sweat shirt yg ada hood
6. Game watch
This morning, i just had a phone conversation with Mr Gig, other than telling him the good news, also to just mess his diary up, make him late for meetings.
' I've been made a *toot* . I have lots of money now ' saja nak eksen ngan laki i.
' Then, you boleh le sponsor book case untuk living room atas' memang laki i pandai bab cari jalan mengabiskan duit bini dia.
' No, nanti kang you jugak yg nak control what can / not be put in the book cases. So anal! '
' Kena la control because you have poor taste ' laki aku ni memang la high taste..he married me kan..kah kah..anyway, he's a metrosexual, sometimes too ideal to be practical.
' Aa...control2 lah..i'm using the extra money to get my own place'. This used to be a threat only, hmm..but now with the financial freedom???
I was just digressing a bit up there...my point was before i got side tracked...there are a lot of things i can afford now..but i am far from being one who splurges my money unnecessarily...yes, i do that once in a while but according to my hubby, i ni kedekut nak mampus. I frowned when he bought his N series handphone, or his Timberland T-shirt or his penchant for Bristish India stuff (even his boxer shorts. I beli undies kat Carrefour je). I earn much more than him ... I own a functional hand phone i.e. the one in the pic above....i know..it is embarrasing..i'm sure you won't want to be seen walking with me yg berhp itu, apatah lagi owning one kan? If you look closely, can you see the black dot on the bottom RH corner of its screen? That's air liur Little D...i hantar hp i yg harga tak mencecah RM300 ni utk service because one day it was not functioning tengok2 penuh air liur. Unless, i ni jenis cakap tersembur air liur, mestilah culpritnya si Master Yoda.
Perhaps, from childhood experience, i have to know where my money goes and that each month i make sure i save some and have several insurance policies as well. Women usually leave this thing to their husband but i guess, i was already financially independent before i met Mr Gig hence i continue to manage my own finances. I am always worried that one day bila i dah retire, and if i live till 90, i may not be financially independent. I'm also worried that if i or anyone in my family falls ill, we may not be able to afford the best medical care because of financial constraints.
Will i one day get a new hp? Most probably because the spacebar on the present one is not functioning hence i have to end every word with a fullstop when sms-ing and nampak kelakar sangat. But will i spend more than RM1k? Would be lucky if i'm even willing to fork out more than RM500 for it.
