C

I was going to moan about the lack of subjects to recruit this week, how the data collection is hitting a plateau but there are bigger things happening out there. Like a friend who lost her sister to the big C and this person on blogsphere who left behind her two young boys, also due to the dreaded disease. A former colleague, who had one of her kidneys removed last month and now back in hospital with severe back pain and we fear that her cancer has metastasised to the bone. And another colleague who was hoping that her dad's chest Xray was showing some kind of abscesses but the report came back that he's got lung cancer stage 4. Her mum's bedridden from stroke and her dad's in hospital for palliative care. What can one say to the person under these circumstances? I felt that both her parents' conditions were terminal...so i asked about her instead, how is she coping and if she needs me for anything, just holler. And for the colleague with the kidney thing, i don't know know what to say to her...but i'd like to drop by as often as i can since i'm in the same building and she has no one with her during daytime. I don't need to be 'talked to'..weird i know, but is it okay?

This entry is depressing..
