Fairy tales
Once upon a time.... Talking about once upon a time ni, little D sekarang sungguh teruja dgn fairy tale classics. MG bought her the complete set of story books..semua ada dari little red riding hood ke the big pancake. When i was slightly older than her, i suka sangat fairy tales gitu. I yearned for the books...kalau la dapat..but alas, i ni budak pekan kecik..mana la ada kedai buku yg jual buku cerita...yg ada kedai buku sekolah yg berlambak buku fajar bakti (ingat tak Esah?) atau kedai kap lam yg jual mingguan perdana..dan mungkin juga buku monagersang bacaan kegemaran Esah). Anyway, my exposure to fairy tales would be during storytime kat kindy. Cikgu akan dok depan kelas, kitaorg dok atas lantai dengar dia bercerita..then dia akan tunjuk gambarnya sekali. Bukan ke jaman2 tu the Beast from Beauty and the Beast was huge and hairy...ala2 dada buffalo gitu. But versi yg little D ada, humph...rhope the beast was like a cross between planet of the ape and NicholasCage..yeah, don't like this guy). Lean, mata kuyu and dahi senduk like that. Not much hair and bila dah jadi prince pun lagi tak hensem. Pas tu cerita Snow White nya pulak, the 7 dwarves look like the evil Rumpelstiltskin...no more roly poly jolly looking dwarves. Snow White doesn't have rosy cheeks..what's that about??? Pas tu, the goldilocks got scared off by the bears..bukan ke she actually got lost in the forest, hence stumbled upon their cottage and they eventually made friends with her? Atau adakah versi i ni mazhab yg salah? Then the prince from princess and the pea rhope2nya was seriously looking for a princess to marry..awat tak boleh kawin org kebanyakan? Then Rapunzel pulak entah mana2 jantan dia bagi naik masuk ke biliknya? And don't get me started on the frog from the princess and the frog. Saja je nak makan sama princess lah, nak tido sama princess lah. Gatai! But ok i have no complaints regarding the 3 little pigs although kesian yg 2 ekor kena makan dgn wolf. Padan muka gingerbread boy last2 kena makan dgn fox pasal gedik sangat pi larikan diri awat? Sian atuk opah takde anak (according to babyX). That's my critical appraisal of the literature tuan puan (kalau lah cenggini dgn journal ilmiah yg i baca kan...dah tentu chapter 1&2 ku excellent)

ReplyDeleteall the fairy tales tu kan dari zaman tok kaduk kan.. so dah lama gila la all of us master the story line.. yg PhD ni baru berapa tahun Cik Kiah oi, confirm la tak berapa hebat on making critics bout it kannn?
kalau la kite semua baca all the literatures dari kecik kann? am sure mmg menang nobel laureate!!!

ReplyDeleteMembaca that u punya stress dengan your sv, makes me sangat2bersyukur that i got a good sv. I was dropped by my earlier sv and was really crushed. Tapi pujuk gak hati, i am sure Allah has better plan for me. Tup2 i dpt sv yg sangat baik, but still subtlely said to meet her every week so that we have progress. Bila dah terpaksa jumoa every week memang terpaksa lah jugak lr tu bergerak kan. Dan kalau tak kerana dia, takdela idah mula menulis chapter 1 and 2.syukur2. Tapi say bukan buat phd lah kak. Master by research jek..
Bagus gak, citer citer yang kita lagi kecik dah tahu sekarang ni bagi twist sikit...
