Boy and girl were in the same circle of friends but were never really friends with each other. Girl didn't care too much about boy's cavalier attitude. And boy thought girl was just too plain and simple. One night when they were among friends, girl got very annoyed with boy and she blurted out, 'I would not marry you even if you were the last man on earth'. Years later boy told girl that he was livid because the statement came from someone so plain. But it was from that moment boy started to notice girl. He seeked her often after class. One day, boy asked girl to be his girlfriend. She turned him down because she knew he was only lonely and desperate for companionship. A few days later, he asked her again and she said yes. She had grown to like him.
The relationship was not without turmoil but they also had some good times together. They fought and they made up. She liked the fact that she could talk to him just about anything. And he told her that he loved her just for being her. Then they graduated and entered the real world. She wanted him to make their relationship official but he wanted to try new things and he felt marriage would slow him down. He thought that they should go out and meet other people. She really wanted to be with him but knew fully well that its best to let him go for he was no longer happy with just her. They broke up but with love still in their hearts for each other.
In truth, they weren't mature enough to handle the relationship. Over the years she came to realise that love does not mean you own the person's mind, body and soul. And he, whatever he was looking for, the grass was not always greener on the other side of the fence.
Years later, he got in touch with her. He told her that she had always been the one. He had looked high and lo for her, ever since he knew his marriage is not working out. He wanted her to meet his mum. She hesitated because he was still a married man. But, at long last, they will be together.
But then, she woke up and it was just a dream.
