Mana mummy?

It has been a hectic week, hence no time for blogging (but i do blog hop). Usually i like to wind down at the end of the day at the office with writing a line or two. Have not been doing that for the last few weeks because one little girl is expecting the mummy to be the one to pick her up from the nursery. Padahalnya, nursery betul2 sebelah rumah (share satu dinding!) and the maid can always pick her up but noooo..little D dah terbawak2 dari bulan pose hari tu where i would have reached the nursery by 5.30pm, parked my car depan nursery tu, boleh nampak muka dia intai celah2 grill tu, pick her up, masuk dlm kereta, pusing seround dua then baru balik rumah. When there were times i couldn't reach home on time i.e. before cikgu dia start keluarkan buku OT (and charge RM7 after 6pm) i'd ask Siti to pick her up but Siti got pretty worried because little D would be asking every 5 secs, mana mummy? Then lepas tu akan nangis..aiya!! Like today, i reached home around 7.30pm, singgah minggah beli satay (pasal malas nak masak) plus hujan yg so lebat. The maid, little D and baby X were all in the maid's room and little D was crying, nak mummy..! Camna boleh manja sangat ni? Padahal i boleh tahan garangnya.

I spoke to a colleague today telling her that it's so difficult to get any paper work done during office hours due to the nature of my job. Normally i'd take the extra 1-2 hours after 5pm to wrap things up...kenkadang tu bawak balik ke rumah but since sekarang ni pukul 9 pun mata dah berat cam garfield's, hardly anything get done at home. But if i were to stay on at the office, a little girl will be very disappointed....her face really lights up bila tengok i yg mengambiknya dari nursery...you know, i am like her friends' mummies yg day in day out hantar dan ambik anak. I tak sampai hati...when she is all grown up, she will not remember stuff like sapa yg bayar tuition/school fees dia, put clothes on her back, or feed her etc. but i'm sure she will remember the times when her mummy picked her up from school (cam sampai sekarang i can ingat how happy i was when my mum dtg ambik i kat tadika..dia naik basikal lagi you because she couldn't drive). So, from now onwards i shall always try to reach home before 6pm (i kerja jauh therefore paling lambat by 5.15pm kena leave the office already. Unless aku perasan kaya and nak bayar RM7 OT everyday..!)

I always thought that with me work comes first. I was pretty happy that we all lambat dapat anak..but now i have fallen, apa kataorg? Hook, line and sinker with my role..it's pretty comforting to have little arms around my neck..tak kisahlah apa kata Esah yg aku ni asyik nak sogokkan anak2 aku kat org..well..mummies need to have sometime to themselves also la..
