Princess Boyot was supposed to make an appearance at Little D's kindy this morning as part of 'tell-show' whatever. But i had to take her to the vet pasal malam semalam asik masuk toiletnya utk kencing je. Stage fright kut haha. Anyway, ni dah kali kedua in this month only that i had to have her seen due to problem with her waterworks. The vet asked me, so, what do you want me to do? Haiya! idiot! Tak inspiring confidence langsung...i know la PB is a pain in the arse as a patient but kalau tak leh handle animals cenggini, janganla jadi vet. Pakai la oven gloves whatever kalau takut kena cakar. Last2 he decided to prescribe stronger antibiotics for her...tengoklah i cakap, kalau dlm 2 weeks tak settle lagi, i want him to put her under anaesthetic to give her a thorough examination. Tak boleh tahan la..kesian makcik tu asik keluar masuk litter box je..bau pun hanch semacam. The vet thinks she's under some stress...(hmmm..this cat sleeps for like 20 hours a day, tak menguit2, so what kind of stress can she possibly be under? Nak makan, tersedia ada; nak minum, air fresh sentiasa; petang2 bawak jalan, bulu selalu kena sikat, nak urut, orang urut...so tell me?)
I saw a stray cat outside the vet's practice. Kesian, muka penuh bulat tapi kurus kering. Tak takut orang...i wish kawasan rumah i luas or ada pagar...atau MG jenis pengutip kucing (like my BIL)..so the next best thing i could do was to buy a can of tuna from the vet and before i got into my car, i left it for the cat. Dia makan main punya gelojoh, sian lapar sangat. Nasib baik takde stray dogs..i sat in my car watching it eat. Bergerak2 can tu..aiyak..dah pulak muncungnya tak sampai...Then i terperasan the vet's assistant was standing behind the door and she saw what i just did. Pas tu dia bawak keluar penyapu..oh no...i was ready to do battle (no one would want to cross my path kalau i hilang pertimbangan..hehe). Dia sapu2 sampah kat luar kedai, she went in and got some newspapers, tip the can over the paper, put it on the tembok and the cat went after it. Then she continued sweeping..kucing tu happy and i was..ecstatic plus terharu...ghope assistant tu macam pelik je..i tak tau dia jantan or tino, but i can see that we shouldn't judge a book by its cover..her/ his (?) heart is definitely big..
Another cerita mengenai hati orang yg tak semestinya sama dgn ghope. I was at workplace B, for data collection. Semestinya i berperanan vampire, i wanted blood of little children yg tengah tidur (please don't take this literally). I asked very nicely to this adik yg tengah nak jadi pakar buat orang tidur, please can you take his blood for me? Dia tanya i, nak ambik dgn apa, syringe ke butterfly (layman: dua2nya jarum). Menjadi resmi orang yg nak mintak tolong ni, dgn manis mulut i cakap, mana2 yg lebih senang utk youlah...
And adik yg putih, sedap dipandang mata, semestinya golongan cerdik pandailah kan, berkata; Takde yang senang! Semuanya susah!
She snubbed me!
I terdiam...i looked at her, is this lady for real? Kalau ye pun dia ingat i ni student hingusan je, obviously, mata i yg dah banyak berkedut ni menunjukkan apa2 pun i lebih tua dari dia...is that how the younger ones (people kelahiran KBSR/KBSM) were taught to speak to their elders? Sayangnya, pelajaran tinggi, rupa tak kurang tapi budi bahasa takde langsung. The thing is, dia pun masih student lagi, bukannya pakar pun, so help each other outlah kan..never mindlah what goes around comes around.
Or is it because God is fair? Orang yg terlebih pandai seperti doktor2 kita ni, ada pulak kekurangannya i.e. budi bahasa, sensitivity .....etc.? Ataupun syllabus med school terlampau compact sangat sampaikan takde masa nak masukkan pelajaran tatarakyat/kesopanan kesusilaan etc.? Ataupun mak bapak takde ajar punya..takpe biarle anak dok bertapa dlm bilik asalkan baca bukuuuuuu je..Bila buat ward round tu, no greeting the patients, terus capai bed ticket, lagi parah ada yang sambil2 tu kunyah chinggam jugak. Ada yang cakap dgn org2 tua macam semua org tua tu pekak.. I hate to say this (but Esah, honestly, i don't, hehe) kebanyakannya yg local grad yg poyo...yg grad overseas ni lain sikit because masa belajar kiranya golongan minority...cubalah poyo, mesti tahu langit tinggi rendah. Even the receptionist is higher in hierachy dpd student kat sana tau. Kalau kat sini, baik students or officer dlm tempoh percubaan, pergi makan roti canai kat gerai mamak tepi hospital pun pakai white coat and gantung sthetoscope (lose the white coat la...orang lain geli nak makan. Segala jenis bug ada lekat kat whitecoat uols tu).
OKlah, don't mind me..enough membebel for one night.

bagus perbuatan CK terhadap kucing tu. Sahabat Rasulullah yg kuat daya ingatan, Abu Hurairah pun sangat menyayangi kucing.
ReplyDeletekucing I hari tu pun I bawak pergi jumpa vet, sebab die tak makan sgt. I bagi makan sebelum pergi kelas 8 am, balik pukul 7 pm, makanan die tak bersentuh pun, sampai dah kering. bila vet checked, dia kata my cat maybe kidney probleme sebab her left kidney is smaller than the right one. alhamdulillah lepas blood test, takde ape ape. menggelabah jugak mase nak tunggu keputusan tu sebab kidney probleme is very common for persian/DLH. vet kate she might loss her appetite due to the hot weather at home. 32°c uol!!
pasal attitude probleme tu, I no komen. tapi I perasan prof dan budak budak research kat tempat I sangat polite dengan pekerja am. setiap kali mereka masuk lab kosongkan tong sampah, kiteorang greet dan cakap thank you. kalau nak minta tolong bersihkan office, kita amik rendezvous ikut dieorg punya timetable lagi.
CK asyik kene snap je bila minta tolong kat workplace. banyakkan lah bersabar ye, the greatest reward comes with the greates trial.. amin. gituh feeling2 usrah lah pulak hari ni.

ReplyDeleteI hope your cat feels much better now. Rumah we all ni fan tak pernah tutup, sentiasa terpasang walaupun takde orang. Almaklumlah ada budak2 bulu ni..lagipun kalau cuaca panas, depa asik shedding je.
Regarding manners ni, memang..i think i learned my p's and q's masa i student abroad dulu. Dgn cleaners, nurses, assistants, PA's, janitor...it makes life easier because if we need help they'd be ever willing to help. Hmmm..but not here, kenkadang i heran tengok the way my students speak to the assistants..cam mak bapak tak ajar adab langsung. Kalau i nampak, siapla diaorg!

CK, u tak rasa ke kat kebanyakkan rakyat Malaysia adalah kurang kesopanan dan tata susila walaupun dah masok kelas agama and kelas moral, tetap gak mcm gitu.. yg ada pangkat tu lagi la pulak, bongkaknye tak yah kata lahh..

talking abt Docs kan CK kan, ex-mak dulu study kat tempat kerja uols(kalau betullah kan, depan tasik tu ops*). Anyhow i have to say org pandai2 ni (cam dia) pernah lah dok pandang kita yg non-higher cam dia ni takda apa2 instead bila kene tegur dgn MO or HO ke apa ho pun balik mengamuk2.As i used to say kat dia dulu lah....."student kalau kene tegur je, terus melenting sbb beranganz pandai, padahal _______ pun tak lepas lagi kan?

ReplyDeletebukan menunujuk la..pat pakai coat & stethoscope tu sebab kalo ada kucing tercekik karipap, senang nak identify doktor and immediately boleh suroh administer manouver si heimlisch tu on the kucing ..tak ler ada case mistaken identity seorang cleaner kantin disalah teka as doktor kan....
